Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) Batteries
What is a Nickel-Cadmium Battery?
It's a battery that uses nickel oxide in its positive electrode (cathode), a cadmium compound in its negative electrode (anode), and potassium hydroxide solution in its electrolyte. The Nickel Cadmium Battery is rechargeable, so you can use it over and over.
CADNICA Batteries
In 1963, SANYO's innovative technology gave birth to the sealed nickel cadmium battery, "CADNICA". The CADNICA battery has earned high acclaim for its inventive technology and superior quality.
Features
It's rechargeable, so you can use it over and over; more than 500 times [Much more economical than dry cell batteries].
Discharge voltage remains stable even in conditions of high-rate discharge current [For equipment needing a high-rate discharge current, it's far more stable than other battery types].
Wide operating temperature range (-20°C to 60°C) [It operates especially well in low temperatures].
Performance doesn't deteriorate even after long-term storage [Full recovery of original performance levels after recharging].
Designed to withstand overcharge and overdischarge [Superior durability].
Sealed configuration with gas release vent [Easy maintenance and no leakage].
Produced using an ISO9000 certified quality control system [High quality and reliability].
General-use batteries (Standard series) High performance and reliability.
High-capacity batteries (E and U series) High density electrode plate and new design provide 40-100% higher capacity than conventional batteries.
Quick-charge batteries (R series) Improved gas circulation during charging and discharging enables quick charging in only one hour.
High-temperature batteries (H series) Charge effectiveness, discharge capacity, and service life are greatly increased. Trickle charging ability in high temperatures is also greatly improved.
Heat-resistant batteries (K series) Heat-resistant design makes it possible to quick-charge in temperatures up to 70°C.
Long life (C series) Use of a new separator provides superior performance in continuous charge and cycle modes. Longer service life than conventional batteries.
Memory-backup batteries (S series) With extremely low self-discharge during storage, memory can be preserved for a long time.
Rectangular shape (Slim KF series) Compact and quick-charging. Smaller than conventional cylindrical type batteries, with the same capacity.
Applications
Cellular phones, telecommunications equipment
Portable audio-visual equipment
Emergency lights
Electric tools
Battery-powered vehicles
Highly recommended for high drain/high amp load devices like Portable SUNGUN/HMI's and HD/Motion Picture cameras...
Better investment than Ni-Mh & Lithium-ion Rechargeables!
Many myths and misconceptions of the Ni-Cad it is not environmentally friendly if disposed of improperly but this cell is a workhorse is without a doubt and reliable source of power. Ideally for High drain devices..
Storage: by CINE 60, INC.
Nickel-Cadmium batteries can be stored in a charged or uncharged condition for any length of time without any significant degradation of performance. Partial self-discharge while battery is not in use is a normal characteristic. The approximate rate of self-discharge is 2% per day at normal room temperature, and approximately up to 6% per day at 120 degrees F. This is chemical self-discharge is in no way harmful to the life of the battery storage.
The best storage place is one that is cool and dry, away from direct sunlight, heating pipes, ducts, etc.
